Shoulder Patches

The navy blue and silver patch in the shape of a half circle was worn by the RFD from 1967 to 1969.  Prior to this no patch was worn.

The yellow and black patch was worn from 1969 until 1999.  This patch was designed by Reno Firefighter Tom Nicora.  It was phased out over a 2 year period from 1999 to 2001 when the new Pride in Service patch was required.  The Pride in Service patch was designed by Reno Firefighter  Geof Hillier.

This is a collectable patch only.  It was not worn on the uniform.
The Honor Guard patch is worn by members of the Local 731 Honor Guard on Dress Uniforms.

 

The IAFF 731 embroidered logo is worn on off duty jackets.

The upper patch in this panel was a concept patch that was never adopted.

 

The lower patch is an example of the patch worn by TMFPD VFDs in 2001 at the time of the merger with RFD..

This is the patch worn by the professional members of the TMFPD in 2001 at the time of the merger with the RFD.  The Honor Guard rocker was worn by the TMFPD Honor Guard on dress uniforms.
This is the old style TMFPD patch.  The professional members of the TMFPD wore the Washoe County patch in the lower left corner without the rocker.  Each VFD had a patch with their name on the lower panel of the maltese cross.  The auxiliaries wore the Washoe County patch with the rocker.
This patch was worn by members of the Triad Hazardous Materials Team.  The Triad consisted of Reno and Sparks FDs and the Truckee Meadows FPD.
